To finalize your booking, a non-refundable $200 deposit is required. This secures your appointment and goes towards the total cost of your tattoo.
Before your appointment
Many clients ask about prepping before the appointment date and aftercare. We will provide detailed instructions for both. Generally, we recommend ensuring you are well-rested, hydrated, and have eaten a good meal before your session. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications.
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Your tattoo has been professionally cleaned and covered with a Second Skin bandage to protect it during the initial healing process. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure the best possible results.
Leave the Second Skin On
- Keep the bandage on for 7 days.
- It is normal to see blood, plasma, and ink collect underneath the bandage during the first few days.
- The bandage is waterproof, so you may shower as usual. Avoid soaking your tattoo in baths, pools, hot tubs, lakes, or the ocean.
- If the bandage begins leaking, peels back enough to expose the tattoo, or becomes damaged, remove it immediately and begin the aftercare instructions below.
Removing the Second Skin (Day 7)
- Wash your hands thoroughly.
- Remove the bandage slowly under warm running water, gently stretching it away from the skin rather than pulling it straight up.
- Wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free antibacterial soap using clean hands only.
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel or allow it to air dry. Do not rub the tattoo.
After Removing the Bandage
- Apply a very thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer 2–3 times a day, or whenever the tattoo feels dry.
- Continue moisturizing until the tattoo is fully healed, typically 2–4 weeks.
- Less is more—your tattoo should never feel greasy or heavily coated.
During the Healing Process
- Do not scratch, pick, or peel any flaking skin.
- Avoid direct sunlight and tanning until fully healed.
- Do not soak the tattoo in water until healing is complete.
- Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing to prevent unnecessary friction.
- Avoid intense exercise that causes excessive rubbing or stretching of the tattoo during the first few days, especially for tattoos over joints.
What to Expect
Healing is different for everyone, but it’s normal to experience:
- Mild redness during the first 24–48 hours
- Light itching
- Dryness and flaking
- Slight peeling
These are all normal.
